‘Yes, I made it to NVIDIA’: Karnataka engineer’s LinkedIn post inspires young tech aspirants

Software engineer Pruthviraj Prakash's LinkedIn post about landing a Deep Learning role at NVIDIA, after growing up in a small Karnataka village, is resonating with young tech aspirants.

‘Yes, I made it to NVIDIA, and so can you.’ That is how Pruthviraj Prakash closed a LinkedIn post describing his journey from a small village near Chitradurga, Karnataka, to a Software Development Engineer role in NVIDIA’s Deep Learning division at the company’s Santa Clara, California headquarters.

‘What started as a quiet dream in a small town has now become reality,’ Prakash wrote, recalling how access to technology ‘once felt out of reach’ where he grew up. His post traced years of education, persistence and career transitions rather than simply celebrating a new job.

Prakash completed his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from PES University between 2016 and 2020, then worked for three years as an engineer at Bengaluru-based technology company Enquero, from August 2020 to July 2023. He enrolled in a Master of Science in Computer Science programme at Clarkson University in the United States in August 2023, graduating in May 2025, and joined NVIDIA’s Deep Learning division just months later, in August 2025.

He now reportedly earns an annual salary of around Rs 2.6 crore. ‘Joining NVIDIA feels surreal, not just for the opportunity to work on cutting edge deep learning and AI, but to be part of something bigger, alongside some of the brightest minds in tech,’ he wrote.

Prakash addressed his advice directly to students and young professionals chasing similar goals: ‘To those still chasing their dreams, please don’t stop. Keep learning, stay patient, and move forward one step at a time. What feels impossible today might just become your story tomorrow.’
